Moving Sound

The tap infection seized Brynn at age five and has been relentless ever since. She has danced professionally with Tap Olé Dance Company and has worked closely with renowned choreographers Lynn Dally, Brenda Bufalino, Barbara Duffy, Margaret Morrison, Germaine Salsberg, Derick Grant, and Lynn Schwab. Recently she was certified through the American Tap Dance Foundation to teach the Copacetic Canon, including such iconic works as Bill Robinson's "Doin' the New Low Down", the Copacetic Soft-shoe, the Coles Stroll and several others. Because tap's movement vocabulary is so tied to the African diaspora, Brynn tends to teach tap's historical context alongside the dance, putting her research into practice and realizing the full potential of embodied learning. Brynn has taught tap dance across New York's five Boroughs, in Oakland, and Southern California. Most recently she has taught in both the dance and theatre departments at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Hollywood, and is currently on the dance faculty at Chapman University in Orange County. She caters to all ages but has a special knack for absolute beginners.
